About CCOG Membership

WHO ARE WE?

We come from all reaches of the San Luis Obispo County and welcome expansion from growers in nearby
counties. We are over 60 farms strong and growing each year as new production comes on line and existing olive farmers learn of our organization and abilities to share information on a range of topics from farming to marketing to local and federal laws relating to our operations.

WHEN DO WE MEET?

The meeting schedule is always published in the newsletter and online at www.centraloastolivegrowers.org.

Generally we meet every other month on a Sunday afternoon, beginning with a social ½ hour at 4:30, meeting business at 5:00 PM and a relevant speaker or topic discussion followed by more socializing and casual dining.

Members are encouraged to bring a bottle of wine to share.

WHAT DO WE ACCOMPLISH?

We learn from each other, study proposed legislation, learn how this could impact our operations and provide input to help properly shape new laws. We strive for excellence in production, sustainability and spreading the work about the high quality artisan EVOO being grown in our region.

WHERE ARE WE GOING?

We’re adopting high quality standards and associated image that assists in promoting the value of our efforts. Member farms have won many of the prestigious medals in competitions across the land and as far away as Japan new competition.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP?

Buying clout. Information sharing. Camaraderie with other growers. A collective and influential voice on major changes happening within our farming region, within the State of CA and on Federal levels as well.
